Sea cargo
For the loads
too big to fly
Two pounds a kilo, minimum fifty kilos. Slower than air by some weeks — and a fraction of the cost when weight is what you are paying for.

What it suits
Furniture, materials, business stock
Sea makes sense when the load is heavy and the date is flexible. A sofa, a generator, bags of cement, a pallet of stock for a shop — things where paying air rates per kilo would cost more than the goods.
At £2 per kilo against £5.85 by air, a 200 kg consignment to Lagos is roughly £400 by sea instead of about £1,200 by air. The trade is time: five to seven weeks rather than five to seven days.
| Worked example | 200 kg to Lagos |
| By sea, at £2.00 / kg | £400.00 |
| By air, at £6.25 / kg | £1,250.00 |
| You save | £850.00 |
Indicative only — a pallet allowance applies to both, and sea consignments are quoted on inspection. Ask us for a firm figure.
Before you book
The 50 kg minimum
Sea freight starts at 50 kg. Below that, air is usually cheaper anyway once you account for handling, so we will tell you honestly which way to send it.
Fragile items require crating, priced on inspection. Liquids such as oils and skincare are always crated.
Strictly enforced
No contraband
Customs inspect sea consignments thoroughly, and a single prohibited item can hold up an entire container — including everyone else’s goods inside it.
Please read the prohibited list before you pack, and ask if you are unsure about anything at all.
Sending something heavy?
Send us a photo and rough dimensions on WhatsApp. We will tell you whether sea or air works out cheaper for what you have.
